B&K Storage ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have when you use our websites, customer portal, online store, bookings, rentals, deliveries, and facilities (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, addresses, and password (stored in hashed form), plus business details if you buy for an organization.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers; we keep billing history and limited payment details such as card brand and last four digits.
- Transactions: your bookings, reservations, rentals, orders, invoices, and payment history.
- Agreements and documents: rental agreements, electronic signatures, and files or images you upload.
- Deliveries: delivery addresses, instructions, and scheduling details.
- Communications: messages you send us, support requests, and your communication preferences.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and actions taken. Our usage analytics are first-party: we collect this data for ourselves and do not use third-party advertising trackers.
- Cookies: small files used to keep you signed in, secure your session, and remember preferences. See Section 4.
- Email interactions: whether messages we send are delivered, opened, or clicked, so we can monitor deliverability and improve communications.
- Facility access records: entry events when you use digital access credentials (such as codes or fobs) at our facilities.
- Video surveillance: our facilities may be monitored by cameras for safety and security, where permitted by law.
Information from other sources
- Payment and service partners: confirmations and status updates from our payment processor and from partners involved in fulfilling your services (for example, delivery partners).
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Services: accounts, bookings, rentals, orders, deliveries, billing, and facility access.
- Process payments, send invoices and receipts, and collect amounts owed.
- Send service communications such as confirmations, billing notices, and important account or safety notices.
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you.
- Send marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time (Section 7).
- Protect the security of the Services, our facilities, our customers, and our staff, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Analyze usage to improve and develop the Services.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
- Service providers: companies that process data on our behalf and only on our instructions, such as payment processing, cloud hosting and file storage, email delivery, facility access control, delivery routing, and analytics and support tooling.
- Professional advisors: lawyers, accountants, and insurers where reasonably necessary.
- Legal and safety: when required by law or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others, including fraud prevention.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or agree to a specific disclosure.
4. Cookies and Tracking
- Essential cookies keep you signed in and secure your session. The Services do not function without them.
- Preference cookies remember settings such as interface options.
- First-party analytics record page views and actions within the Services. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
- Email tracking: our emails may include a small pixel and tracked links that tell us whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked. Opting out of marketing email stops marketing messages; service and billing emails continue while you have an account or balance with us.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, but blocking essential cookies will prevent parts of the Services from working.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterward as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes, for example, transaction, invoice, and tax records we are required to keep (typically up to seven years), records needed to resolve disputes or enforce agreements, and security logs kept for shorter operational periods. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, and residual copies in backups are purged on our regular backup cycle.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, encrypted storage of sensitive credentials, role-based access controls, and optional multi-factor authentication for accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by law.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Access and correction
You can view and update most of your account information in the customer portal, or contact us to request a copy or correction of your information.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 11. So that we act only on legitimate requests, we will verify your identity, for example, by asking you to write from the email address on your account. We respond within 30 days of verifying your request.
When we delete your data, your account is closed and your personal information is removed or de-identified, except information we are required or permitted to keep, such as:
- transaction, invoice, and tax records required for accounting and legal compliance;
- records related to an active rental, unpaid balance, or unresolved dispute (deletion can proceed once these are resolved);
- information needed for security, fraud prevention, or to comply with a legal obligation or hold.
Copies in encrypted backups are purged on our regular backup cycle after deletion.
Marketing opt-out
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by contacting us. Service and billing communications continue while you have an account, rental, or balance with us.
State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. You can exercise these rights using the contact details in Section 11. If we decline a request, we will explain why, and you may appeal as provided by your state's law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Where We Process Data
We are based in the United States and process information in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and if a change is material we will provide notice (for example, by email or through the customer portal) before it takes effect.
